I only had a Texas Instrument Computer growing up. It did cool things like read in a robot voice what I typed. Also the one game we had was called “Bigfoot” which was basically a poor man’s Donkey Kong. I am saddened because I won’t be able to get any of the Commodore 64 references. I am not saddened that I can’t watch this video. I really need to look into upgrading my Flash player so I can enjoy these things with everyone else. That and something that checks my spelling for me. If only they had something like that.

I had neither. I had some sort of Timex thing that would load text based adventures using a tape recorder. No graphics, not even crappy big foot graphics, for me.

TRS 80’s rocked. Every “game” was on cassette and they were all text based. I still remember the one that is similar to the game Tom Hanks is playing at the beginning of “Big”. That is without the fancy graphics. And the colors. Ah, the step up from punch cards.

@McCrudeshoes, best parts where before each game the climber guy said “I’ll get you Bigfoot” and then when you caught Bigfoot, he said “Now I’ve got you” and you would lower a cage on him and hoist him away. And then he’d reappear and throw twice as many boulders at you on the next level. Apparently those cages were poorly constructed.

Not sure what it was called but I know about a quarter of the way through it you had to type “stab bat” in less than 2 seconds or you died all the time and had to start over. Maybe that accounts for my shitting typing skillz.
